Recently purchased this lamp - Any info would be great

Hi! recently purchased this huge ceramic standard lamp and would like to know a bit more about it. The previous owner thought it was German Lava glaze and it had been in the family for a while but other than that it is difficult to identify as it has no markings. Ilove it anyway, but would just like to know a little about where it originates from. Thanks.

Thanks dantheman, done some searching, but can't see anything like this at all. Not sure what sort of shade to put on it, as it is such a statement piece in itself, I would hate to ruin it by getting the wrong shape shade! : ) Any other ideas ppl?
