high profile collectors
just watched this clip on youtube of Anna Wintour (Vogue editor) and spotted in the office some "wonderful" pieces of Clarice Cliff. I'm not really a fan of Ms Wintor or Clarice, but it's interesting to see that such a high profile woman in fashion has chosen to decorate her office with some of her ceramics. High praise indeed.

These pieces are in Anna Wintour office for years, so I really don't think this is a seasonal thing...

It's fashion, you see? That's my point.
Re: high profile collectors
I can see why some would like CC , much in the same way as looking at a dog going by on a skateboard , it's like Oh look, n' that's it , primary colours on so so forms doesn't do it for me , I like a bit of substance in pottery , but only my opinion at the end of the day

Re: high profile collectors
she was a designer essentially I think some of those brightly coloured crudely painted abstract bizzare pieces are extraordinary I can't see how she got away with it or how it ever sold at the time compared to your average tea service

Re: high profile collectors
Not sure if this should go here or in the "Strange but true" thread........... but in the 1980s Clarice Cliff was the first pottery I collected.
