ID help with a glass lampstand please
Hello everyone, my first posting after lurking for a while
Can anyone shed any light on the maker / age of this monster stand that came my way recently. Its growing on me but I have little idea of its origins. Many thanks for any comments

This isn't really my field, but does anybody else think that the top looks older than the glass, like somebody's paired up the stem of an old table-lamp with a more modern glass candlestick?

I agree it doesnt look right , it looks like an upside down bowl imo
