Re: Zuid-Holland (Netherlands)
Gouda is not just one factory but a town/region known for their pottery. This type of ware would generically be known as "Gouda" but could be made by a number of factories. i'm sure someone here will have more knowledge and be able to pin it down to one.
Re: Zuid-Holland (Netherlands)
Thats right I remember now - I had a piece marked Zuid Holland and then Gouda so the Zuid must be area or town - it's a bit like a wine region if that makes sense

Re: Zuid-Holland (Netherlands)
Hi there, Zuid-Holland is indeed a region in the Netherlands, we call it a province. And yes, Zuid-Holland was also a factory in the city Gouda which made ceramics. The official name of the company is N.V. Koninklijke Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland, also known as Plazuid, Zuid-Holland or Royal Zuid-Holland.
This vase is made by Zuid-Holland. I think it is made long after Gouda ceramics where popular in Holland, this was probably one of the cheaper series, made for export or for tourists. It is handpainted but as fast as possible, so the lines are not so clear as in the real good Gouda ceramics. Strange: The decor on this one is called Sari while some other vases with this decor are called Sary.
I found these two:
Sary on Marktplaats
Sary on Vazenshop
Some more Zuid-Holland items are on my site: Plateelfabriek Zuid-Holland
