Are there any holes in it? It looks a little like one of those oil/vinegar dispensers to me...

There are holes in them Pip but they are not funcional in that way. They don't even stand up correctly. I think there objects of art or some amature glass making. Has anyone else found anything else like them?

was going to suggest pond balls (used as floats in garden ponds - which when the water froze in cold conditions, would form a small air hole to airate the water and stop the fish from suffocating). but i've never seen any that weren't just balls, and not your gourd shapes
