huge green sklo union (?) glassvase
hello!
found this huge and very nice, green vase last month on a flea market.
there are all original stickers on the vase, but i am completly new to glas and i have no idea what this can be for a maker
i like this vase and the style of it very much and for sure i think i have a new collectors theme for me, i will keep eyes open for this.
i heard about czech/boehmian glas (sklo?), very intresting.
can anyone recommend me a good book about this theme?
here are some pics:

The text on the lower paper label looks like Cyrillic - so one of the Soviet countries would be the place to start. Russia made an awful lot of simple self-coloured glass like this.
The top plastic one will likely be an export label, possibly to one of the Communist countries with a Latin alphabet - East Germany, perhaps?
Or vice-versa!

Hi, this doesn't look like any Czech glass I'm familar with (by the way, Sklo just means 'glass' in Czech, you're referring to Sklo Union production so I've altered your thread heading). If you could post up a base shot as well please that might throw up some info on your vase.
With regard to a good book on Sklo Union production I can thoroughly recommend SKLO UNION ART BEFORE INDUSTRY: 20TH CENTURY CZECH PRESSED GLASS by Marcus Newhall which also includes a CD full of further examples and info. Marcus is not only a leading expert on the subject but a really decent bloke and a friend of mine. We're not allowed to post up commercial links here on the forum so I can't give you a link to his website where you can buy it online but if you Google the book and author name I'm sure you'll find it.
