4-section 31cm tall blue-grey vase

Post by vizibell on Tue Feb 01, 2011 6:21 pm

I have acquired today this tall blue-grey vase from a charity shop. It stands 31cm tall with a diameter of 14cm at base. The base is oh-so slightly indented with a "pebble in the water" effect eminating from the centre and the very outer edge shows genuine signs of rubbing indicating usual wear & tear. Don't think the vase is that old, maybe 1980s. Have looked at similar Belinda Hornsey vases and don't think it's hers. Does anyone recognise whose work this is? (I hope it's not Ikea.)

I'm fairly certain this is a Ronald Stennett Wilson design that was distributed through Wuidart - I can't off the top of my head remember the makers name but I'll have a look through my notes - I've got the info somewhere. Nic might remember however.

Thanks Pip. The info sounds very interesting and I welcome any further developments. The nearest tall hooped vase I have found on the Web attributed to Ronald S-W is green and the hoops are all at the bottom half of the vase, V

My first instinct would have been either one of the German factories or Lindshammar, Sweden. It's not ringing any bells as an RSW design - but then I'm only really familiar with his UK-made output.
