I'm not sure whether I should post this item on here as it's porcelain not pottery, but does anyone know the manufacturer ?

Re: German Porcelain Figure ?
That´s also politically not correct.
K.Steinmann cf. Gerhard Schmidt-Stein, Schlesisches Porzellan vor 1945 (before 1945!), p.225 (marks) Tiefenfurt (Silesia) belongs to Poland today.
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landkreis_G%C3%B6rlitz_(Schlesien)
Schlesien (Silesia) became after WW2 part of Poland as all former
parts of Germany east of rivers Oder - Neisse
However the figurine ist stamped GDR, former German Democratic Republic, East Germany, between rivers Elbe and Oder-Neisse.
The mark reminds of VEB Sitzendorf, which was an important porcelain factory in
GDR but I think the Sitzendorf mark was slightly different. There is a chance to find out
if I find my book of GDR marks.

Re: German Porcelain Figure ?
volker , what's politicaly incorrect ? who mentioned politics , the piece is stamped german , also K steinmaan operated 1868-1932 , also this was only a suggestion , I really don't see what the geography lesson is all about .
