Lamp shade for id

Post by Taylor Thomas on Mon Aug 09, 2010 7:23 pm

Now I just found this on the street, it's funny what people throw away.... I am thinking it has some age to it as it was totally covered in tobacco stains and needed one hell of a clean.

I don't even care if it is Ikea. Owt for nowt as we say....

Definitely 1970s. It's not from any of the major manufacturers - Dan's probably not too far off with his Woolies jibe, as it would have been that end of the market. It might, originally, have had a trumpet-shaped wooden finial, and would almost certainly have had a loose-fitting light diffuser made of concentric plastic rings.

Nice find!

Two pin bayonet 240 volt i would say

No seriously though, looks great and maybe early seventies. Being an ex electrical engineer I would advise you get it checked out before you use it though, that is if you do intend to use it.
If not it still looks the biz.

Hi all :)
This is very like the Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup (here) but by the shape of the shade I don't think this is the original design. Probably a vintage cheaper version although I wouldn't mind finding one like this myself :P
