Heavy Glass Ashtray - blue/green/red
I recently purchased this very nice ashtray from a charity shop, to me it looks very modern. It is crystal clear glass with three oyster shaped segments,
each coloured seperately around each rim in red, blue, and green. Can anyone tell me the maker or year of manufacture. The base is polished with no marks
of any de
scription.
Sorry this is my first ever post on any type of discussion forum, I appear to have macked it up, I'll try better next time, as I have several pieces that I
could do with help in identifying.

Hey Garth, welcome to the forum
you haven't mucked it up at all, although a picture of the base is needed.
Also I've seen one of these recently, maybe here...........I'll have a think - other members knew what it was I recall

Thanks very much Steven, they are almost identical to the one I have. Very much appreciated.

Re: Heavy Glass Ashtray - blue/green/red
There is much debate over whether these really are from Murano or somewhere else.
Re: Heavy Glass Ashtray - blue/green/red
Maybe Romania is a possibility, a few years back i bought a pair of vases in this style from a charity shop, the manageress told me these were romanian back then and i know that she frequently goes there and brings items back to sell in the shop. Also I recently went to a summer fair where the same lady had a stall full of Romanian pottery and glass for sale.
Im thinking now maybe she is right.
