George Todd Hangings

Post by Polar1922 on Fri Oct 01, 2010 7:52 pm

I read with interest your comments.I was an intimate friend of George Todd from the time he returned from Nigera until he died of kidney failure. As a result of the Bilhazia.
I have a number of his drawings including a self portrait,a lot of his work was excuted in silk screen.
He was Ok an Objector I had been in the Army, but it was the man that mattered. He was quiet a great countryman. Some of his
religious hangings are in Churches around Holton cum Beckering.

We went on holiday together to Scotland and Eire.He had an old Volkswagen which just about got us about.
He loved flowers had a great sense of humour, and all my friends enjoyed his company. My Mother especially.
Some of his work including place mats I have given to Sue Blatherwick in Derbyshire. If anybody is interested in his work
I would be happy to photograph. One of his designs for fabric is in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
