"Modern Art" is produced by incompetents, sold by charlatans and bought by ignoramuses?

It is enlightening to juxtapose "Fine Art" to "Modern Art"

and a vase

the production quality of these KMK pieces make many of the other German factories seem a little amateurish imo

Kupfermuhle KMK

Post by R.Ferrao on June 13th 2011, 4:40 pm

I bought this box in boot sale in London a few years ago. I'm convinced it's British but I'm not sure, it has no marks at all. It's rather well finished in a matte glaze with some shades of yellow quite dificult to capture in the pictures.
Can someone help me with its ID?

15 cm x 5,5 cm

Inside:

Bottom, no stamp or mark, but a line carefully painted around the trim, wich I find a very nice detail:

Goooooooooooooood!
Yes it's Viola decor, that started 1968.
Many thanks Dan Excellent

All the pieces that have been identified should be posted again in the correspondent threads or someone is going to move them later?

It is very interesting.
I translated the page and KMK becomes Ceramics Copper Mill and I have just been reading the history of the KMK. It does not translate very well with Google but it is interesting to have so much information from one little pot.
My thanks to dantheman and thank you also to PeterC If I learn nothing else, it will not be a wasted day today.

Hot plate/stand - Kupfermuhle KMK Germany

Post by NaomiM on March 18th 2013, 8:23 am

I've been asked to try to id this for the shop. I think this is a teapot stand. No markings, but nice Scandinavian-style design.
I have a partial dinner service in a similar dark green colour, with a tiny applied stamp that says it's made by Goebel, but I found very little online about Goebel dinnnerware.
Any ideas?
