Hans-Agne Jakobsson (Markaryd, Sweden)

Although these are candleholders, because Hans-Agne Jakobsson are probably best known for their lamps and lighting designs I think they belong here with the other lighting posts.

These have polished bronze coloured metal bases and pale blue glass shades. The stickers read simply 'Made in Sweden' - they also have a manufacturer label to the underside of the metal bases.

Hullo Pip.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB is the company name - Markaryd, a municipality in S.W. Kronoberg, is simply the location of the company.

Nic, in Fire & Sea talking about Flygsfors it says 'Other designers associated with the company were Hans-Agne Jakobsson (from 1957)' - so he would appear to be a person/designer as well as having his own lighting design company later on in Markaryd.

Yup - but Hans-Agne Jakobsson wasn't the only designer at Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB. I know that Arne Nilsson also created designs for them in the early 1960s.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB has designs illustrated in the 1957-1958 Decorative Arts Yearbook, and so was probably established pre-1957.
