Riihimaki shapes

Post by Davee on Thu Nov 26, 2009 2:52 am

Does any body know of a definitive guide to Riihimaki shapes or at least a reliable one, and while i'm on the subject what was the signficance of the 1976 Export Collection? I see it refered to often but can't seem to find much info.

Now there's a question - as far as I know there's no single reference source that lists all the shapes - if I'm unsure about a shape or colour I refer to 4 or 5 specialist glass books to find the info I need (if it's not in one it'll usually be in the other). I don't know about Designlasin though - it's the one book I haven't got yet.

It doesn't list all the shapes, but the Designlasi website definitely has a good crack at it. The site also covers other Finnish glassworks.

I have gone through the site and the designs are really very graceful and what I think that, such designs will look more beautiful and attractive when used as a classic glassware in most of the best hotels and restaurants that always maintains the royal atmosphere and this finnish design will add a beauty to it.

Thanks
