No, as Big Ed says that are fired after "painting" but amongst other things he does use enamel paints that are painted on and the pot is then fired. There are collectors who don't like his pots, as you would expect, but I have never heard anyone complaining about his method of decoration.

it was another magnifying glass job. impressed mark approx 1.5cm long and 0.5 cm wide . says Robin Welch Pottery. very similar to the jug on ebay ( the stamp) but this is in a square rather than a circle

What a great thread - videos and all, really enjoyed looking through it. Thought I'd post a few more pics of his earlier production wares. I think it's really interesting seeing how the surface finishes he used developed into the wonderful stuff he makes now (and which I can't afford!).

Yup , Robin has come a long way since designing for Wedgwood, Midwinter and Denby and making standard ware type pots , all for the better , terrific artist so he is .
