"Modern Art" is produced by incompetents, sold by charlatans and bought by ignoramuses?

I think this is another underrated pottery from cornwall , ok I know it's not up there with the big guns of cornish pottery , but it can be bought very cheap and the dragon eye design is very distinct , would look great with multiple items together , as is most of these type of pots

UNMARKED tINTAGEL POTTERY?

Post by vanmann on April 13th 2011, 5:28 pm

Am I right to assume this dish is from Tintagel? Although it does not have pottery mark, only the figure 65 on base, the pattern looks so similar to the Green Dragon pattern. If so is this blue colourway rarer or have I just not come across it before? The base photo has come white for some reason but in reality it is the usual red clay. Thanks John

Small vase. Marks "Tintagel Pottery" within a rectangle (impressed twice) and the number "55" incised.
