Help to ID lightblue bowl with lid.
Have this lightblue bowl with lid

Did buy it in a lot of Viol range designed by Jacob E. Bang, Holmegaard, and did not notice that this one not was a Holmegaard Viol item.
The lot was bought in Sweden, so maybe perhaps it is of Swedish origin?
Hight is 17 cm
Diameter is 12-17 cm
Wheight is 633g
It did blend in very nicely with Viol range and will expect that is of the approx. same age and that will be 1940s.
Hope someone has seen this type before.

It's beautiful but I'm afraid not a shape I recognise. I'm wondering about the colour - could it be neodymium glass?

Hej Pip - I am not sure that I fully understand "neodymium glass" and imagine that it means a glowing kind of colour, if so I think not, it is very similar in colour as the Viol series, just slightly darker than the Viol violet colour.

Think that the optic lines in the glass do make light flare so it seems like it is luminating.
Obs: Would be nice with possibility of a spell check, but have not found any §;O))

Re: Help to ID lightblue bowl with lid.
Neodymium (also known as Alexandrit) glass is a lilac colour in daylight that changes to a pale blue colour under fluorescent lights ... see the following article.

With regard to the spellcheck - there isn't one unfortunately, but I can suggest the idea to the forum hosts. However, please do not worry about your English or spelling - it's about a zillion times better than my grasp of Danish (which I'm ashamed to say is non-existant!)

Re: Help to ID lightblue bowl with lid.
Thanks for the link, Pip had at some point read it, but have forgot all about it.
Do not have fluorescent light to test the bowl to see if it should contain neodymium oxide as I understand it gives change of colour when put under fluorescent light source.
I do not know, but as I understand it is a bit rare, so properly not.
As for spell check I simply make text in Word to have spell check to take the top wrongs and the copy it into reply :ch3:

I don't think it's neodymium glass, which is not that rare but doesn't seem to be a Scandinavian thing, as that is pinkish purple. the colour reminds me of the purple Riihimaen used.
