Dartington Glass - Frank Thrower designs
Dartington Glass was established in Torrington, Devon in 1967. Eskil Vilhemson from a Swedish glass company was brought in as Managing Director along with a team of Scandinavian glass blowers. Frank Thrower was the chief designer and creative inspiration at Dartington Glass since it's inception until his death in 1987.
Below are three large vases produced in 1978 by Wood Brothers for Dartington Glass. Left to right: a Volterra in smoke, an Inkwell in jet and a Candy Vase in amber - very few were made.

Re: Dartington Glass - Frank Thrower designs
Correct - it's an FT2 dating from 1967-68 in Kingfisher.

Re: Dartington Glass - Frank Thrower designs
so the clear glass version would still be an FT2?

Re: Dartington Glass - Frank Thrower designs
Yep, FT2 is the shape number - most of these types of late 1960s Frank Thrower designs were available in Kingfisher, Clear, Midnight and the much rarer Flame (official Dartington colour names).

Re: Dartington Glass - Frank Thrower designs
"Dartington Glass: The First Twenty Years, 1967 to 1987" by Linda and Stuart Smithson has everything in it that Frank Thrower (and a few others beside during that period) designed for Dartington and is often found on ebay direct from the authors at a good price.
I'm not entirely convinced Pip's glasses are FT. I'll check later

Re: Dartington Glass - Frank Thrower designs
I apologise, they are FT109, Polar range "On the rocks". Second quality though with that label. Came in clear, midnight and kingfisher. The glasses are hi-balls (109/6) if 5.5 inches tall.
Here's an FT2 to look out for, unstruck Flame = amber
