YOU might have, but the vast majority of poole pottery is poured into a mould , that's a fact, as you know they have produced millions of such pieces studio pieces are tiny by comparison .

great site. the lucy Ries are superb. prices seem reasonable tho the best BL have been sold; I must say I prefer the shapes in pottery over the painted pieces hand throwing is not a virtue in itself as it can be used to mass produce things it is one of the fastest ways off making a pot, slip moulded pots still have to be designed and quantity dosent discount quality

but hand thrown pots are all unique whereas slip moulded pots are identical

some throwers can produce virtually identical pieces they also sometimes work with a wooden form to check that it is the same high quality dinnerware is often hand thrown even porcelain
