I'm fairly sure that they added the Scheurich name to the base in the 1980's

for some unkown reasons this decor is called Lora, which was a former times a typical name for a parrot.

Scheurich 209-18?

Post by vanmann on Thu Feb 17, 2011 2:13 pm

I have this vase which appears to me to be a Scheurich piece by mark and colourway but the form no. does not seem right. Did Scheurich sometimes re-use form nos? I also have another which I shall post seperately with the same problemAll comments welcome, John

Another mystery Scheurich 414-16?

Post by vanmann on Thu Feb 17, 2011 2:17 pm

This is similar to my previous post in that the mark looks to me like Scheurich and pattern looks good but form no. shows a different shape. Again could this form no. have been re-used. John

I really like this vase and is one of the ones I've paid most for, but would like to know the factory who made it so I can search out some more to go with it, cheers Nik

Scheurich bottle vase, circa 1972, decorated with the famous Montignac decor, that was inspired by the prehistoric cave paintings found near Lascaux in France.
Front and back are decorated with animals, the sides are covered with brown, bubbling lava glaze.

The base is marked with the scheurich form number 281-30 and w germany

Would be interesting to know, who designed this range?
