Hello everyone!

Bought a nice vase some time ago and havenīt found itīs likeness on the Internet. Form number is 97-40 and I guess itīs made in the mid-fifties or perhaps towards the end of that decade.  Hope somebody can verify if the form name is Folklore.

Found a couple of images online, eg, A SELDOM FOUND WEST GERMAN SIXTIES VASE BY EDUARD BAY CERAMICS.
There is also a shorter one, shape 97-20

Not sure it's the Folklore series, though, because I found "Vintage West German Pottery Folklore Handled Vase by Bay Keramik", which has a stronger Scandinavian look to it. Numbered 952-17

But others know far more than me, so hopefully someone can help you.

Bay jug 97/40 was produced with decor Upsala 1971 only.
The form series  96 1971/72 comprised  6 vases ,  2 jugs 97/20,40,  a bowl and a candlestick.

Hello everyone!

Thanks for the info on the Bay 97/40 jug, intresting that a oldish looking decor can decieve one to guess so wrong about the production year. I have to try to find the other pieces in the 97 and 96 series now. Excellent

Post by chrille on August 17th 2013, 3:18 pm

Hello again!

The other 630-14 form I would have liked to show is sort of  a wide coneshaped form with the widest part at top narrowing to a cone wich spreads halfway towards the bottom and then  narrows again. As I dont have any picture I made a simple drawing of the form. Does anyone know of more 630-14 variants?
