Re: lion king ceramic money box...help pls
Hi Pierce,
The mark is a little fuzzy, but here's what I have in my documentation for similar marks...
Hutschendreuther used a similar mark, though not identical.
Suhl Germany used a similar mark, though not identical.
Vienna Pottery used a similar mark though I doubt it's them since they closed in 1864.
Ackerman E. Fritsche Co. used a similar mark
Both Dresden and Meissen used a similar mark
Volstadt Germany used a similar mark
This list is just going strictly on the shape of the mark itself, referencing my marks library which was downloaded from the web from various sources. Hope this at least gives you something to dig in to.
Rob

thanks rob i will take a tour... its an oblong with two lines crossing the oblong.the mark is raised.in the same color clay.
looks like a scandi piece...somewhere in that region...i guessperhaps gustafsburg...someone else s sugestion.
knowing meissen dresden pretty well ill stratch those off and then vienna as well and ceratinly not a volkstadt piece...so that leaves me with three.
