VEB Haldensleben on the right and a ghastly, inferior version made by Sadler on the left, but which is the copy?? If ever you had to explain our interest in German ceramics, you would only need to hold both of these. All the charm and effortless presence of the VEB version is completely lost in the revolting Sadler thing (light, cheaply built carp). I could go on....but which is the chicken and which is the egg?

I assume these are Veb Haldensleben H on label form no. small 135 Form no. on jug 4025 also has paper label on base Made in E.Germany, vase with label form no.4048
