Metzler & Ortloff (East Germany)

Metzler & Ortloff was founded in 1875 and later became Plankenhammer/VEB Ilmenau which ceased production in 1976.

Vase 19x3 cm. After nationalization in 1972 the works were renamed VEB Ilmenau.

Base view of above vase, base 5 cm across showing within a circle a crown and the M & O standard mark used for export between 1923 and 1972. Outside and below the circle appears the words "Germany".
