This is a charming little pin-dish from a small series called 'Emetts' dating from 1958 designed by the legendary Rowland Emett. They feature the typical whimsical illustrations of Heath-Robinson type contraptions that he's famous for - he's also well remembered as the creator of St Trinians. This pin-dish is called 'Town Carriage for a Ninth Earl' the others in the series are called 'Chivalry', 'Dog and Dogstar' and 'Pastoral Interlude'.

A very sweet little Wade pin-dish is called 'Tropical Fruit Gatherers' which shows a man shinning up a tree to gather coconuts.

Jessie van Hallen joined Wade in 1930 and is famous for the beautiful figurines that she produced. Sadly, Wade were experimenting with their infamous Scintillite cellulose glaze which flakes appallingly. This is one of the two rarest figurines, Carmen (the other is Argentina), very high book prices even with flaking.

It looks very much like a Myott jug my mother used to own. I'll let you imagine how miffed she was when my brother decided to drop his crash helmet on it!

Ouch! I'm sure that made her day!
I've seen this shape lots of times. But never with this design. Was just interested to know if there were any more examples out there. I love it.
