Just as a general observation, the 'X' looks like a stylized pair of shepherd staffs. The geometric patterns with the triangles reminds me of some Ukrainian pottery I've seen.

While surfing the web i found that this is a Paul Schreier piece from the Keramische Werkstätten Bischofswerda.
