Alan White vase
Alan threw and decorated this vase in 2005 using reduction-fired stoneware and the outstanding glaze research of Stephen Course.
Alan was works director at Dartington before returning to Poole Pottery where he still works today

yes it was a superb bargain because the seller didn't spot that hand painted mark on the base

Found my first piece of Dartington pottery at an antiques last Easter weekend.

I think it's just part of the glaze decoration .

I think you're right. I didn't notice it until I looked through the photographs. It's like one of those coloured dot patterns they test you with at the opticians to show if you're colour-blind.
