How To Use Information From This Forum Off-Site

Post by Pip on Wed Jun 04, 2008 12:24 pm

Just a gentle reminder to all our members that, whilst this site was set up with the intention of providing a free resource where our members can learn and talk about 20th Century pottery, glass & collectables or obtain identification on their items, the information on this board is protected under copyright and remains the property of the owner/board (excluding photographs which remain strictly the copyright of the owner at all times).

We would also ask that you don't directly cut and paste any text from this site and use elsewhere - we require that any information used is re-written using your own wording.

We thank you in advance for your co-operation.

Interesting information...a woman who used a pic from another site has just received an account from the said site for Sfr2470.00 should she pay it within 14days she will pay 1450.00 and as u know switzerland does not play with the laws of other countries.she simply cut and pasted it without acknowledgement.

I'm only talking about information in this instance - text only. As far as photographs are concerned they must NEVER be taken off this site and used elsewhere - the copyright of all images on this forum remain with the owners (the person who took the photograph) and our Copyright thread remains exactly as stated.

In this thread I'm really trying to address the issue of a person who might receive an identification here and then use that information elsewhere (say eBay for example). An acknowledgement that they were helped by the members of this board would be a courtesy and that's really the point I'm trying to make here.

Interesting what you say about the lady that stole the photographs though - it happens to me frequently and I've been told to invoice people but up until now all I've done is contact them and ask for my copyright notice to be applied to the photograph or for it to be removed. I've also taken that opportunity to point out to them that using other people's images and words without their prior permission is wrong and infringes their copyright.
