Schlossberg (Schloßberg)

recent find ...looks very roth to me and unusual.

OK, I bought this pair from a trader that I have great faith in (I know its business but some people are reliable) as being Schlossberg 'Roulette' by Liesel Spornhauer. I still believe them to be. I couldn't find anything listed as Schlossberg when doing a search so thought it best to post here for your comments and views rather than listing as a new topic. These babies are my in my top ten pieces and stand 14.5cms high, I love them.

All the Schlossberg I have is marked 'TS', for Theodor Stephen, I assume.

Nic you are probably right , I have always thought that schlossberg only had labels , (hanmade ) , and numbered base ,it is strange to call a company schlossberg then sign them with something else , especially when it was founded by two people , What you think ? Ed

To be honest, many pottery marks seem arbitrary and archaic to me.

Having just had time to browse over the Steuler section, the logos are very similar in concept, granted, but not quite the same.

Perhaps it was only used for a short period? I bought my three Schlossberg pieces from the same person, who had in turn apparently bought them together from new in Germany during the mid- late-1950s.

Good picture. Informative This seems to be the early style of markings, mid 1950s onwards. I haven´t seen the sticker Made in / Germany
before.
