Army owl with medal mark

Seems to be signed fl 83 or 73
Not sure if the medal is a clue?

I have seen similar around but they are not Rye or associated potteries, as far as I am aware.

Signature does look Aldermaston..but i agree probably isnt..why "Army"..or am i being daft Doh!
