Spotted a duck on google with similar colours, listed as Wellow Pottery. They used paper labels, but can't find anything more about the company.

Wellow pottery Empty The origins of Wellow Pottery

Post by peterhardinguk December 24th 2012, 3:43 pm

Yes, my father, Francis Harding & his business partner, Adrian Little ran Wellow Pottery and I believe this was one of their pieces. Most of the designs were of animals (the duck is an example) and most of the original models were designed by an artist, Nigel Harcourt-Lees. The pottery was in Damerham (near Fordingbridge, Hampshire) when my father and Adrian took it over. It moved to Fordingbridge for a short time and then relocated to Giles Lane, Landford, Wiltshire. When sufficient stock had been produced, my father used to travel the country in a small van, delivering to gift shops and taking future orders. Seconds were sold at county and other show such as the Romsey Show and the New Forest Show (Brockenhurst). My brother worked there for a short time and I also helped out for a while, mainly making plaster moulds (for production) from the original master moulds. My father passed away in 1984, aged 69 and Adrian later sold the business on. I have no idea what happened to the moulds and designs after that. I still have many pieces, although not a full collection.

Many thanks for the info Peter. That would explain why I keep seeing pieces around the North Hampshire area.

Hello, I'm interested in the wellow pottery that was. More over I'm trying to find out more about the artist Nigel Harcourt-Lees. When was he with the pottery and where he went afterwards.

I’m afraid the only information we have is from a family member who posted above, back in 2012 . You could try sending them a message
