The dreaded glaze filled mark. Well amongst vaguely Leach type potters, Mike Dodd is the one who has the most glazed filled items. But I might well vote for a 'school of' Frith pot. They have been doing teaching courses for decades, so if the glazes look like a Frith, it might equally be made by a pupil of theirs. David Frith pieces invariably have personal and pottery marks. whereas pots made by pupils have the single pottery mark alone.

There is/was a colony of ex-pat potters in South Africa who sold via London galleries in the latter half of the 20thC. It might be by one of them.

"Modern Art" is produced by incompetents, sold by charlatans and bought by ignoramuses?

It is enlightening to juxtapose "Fine Art" to "Modern Art"

I can see the similarity with your Tureen Denby. Looked at a few Frith jugs and non have the handle that's finished in this way. Interested in your South Africa idea Naomi, do you have any more info like names etc..
