All I can find is an Uday Villa which is Indian studio pottery.

It's odd because it's well made, well signed so it should be easy (famous last words).

The red glaze is typical of Spanish and German pottery

I thought the shape reminded me of some of the fat larva designs I have seen. Could G Villa be a range made for a retailer?

If you Google Cherokee pottery ( presumably pottery made by the Cherokees rather than the name of a pottery) you'll find images with a very similar glaze and base (though not shape). Not an area I know much about, so apologies in advance if I've sent you down an irrelevant rabbit hole!

That's interesting. I didn't know they did drip glazes; just assumed it was all low fired burnished pottery
