Unusual Ancient Style Pot Empty Unusual Ancient Style Pot

Hello, I'm hoping that someone might be able to shed some light on this very unusual pot. It is made out of some kind of chalkware or plaster material. I estimate it dates to around the early 20th century, although the design makes it look much older. It seems to be based on an ancient piece. It is decorated with relief moulded scenes of two men fighting with swords, a pair of fighting lions (?), a man blowing a long curved horn, a pair of hounds attacking a stag, and two elaborate trees. At the top and bottom are raised bands impressed with writing. I think this is either ancient Greek or Latin, but it is hard to make out and I'm not really sure. I'm hoping someone might recognise what this piece is based on - possibly some ancient artefact, maybe from Greece or Italy? Also, can anyone confirm the language round the top and bottom? Any help or other thoughts about age or origin would be very welcome. Thanks, Clare

I think it's Latin rather than Greek, based on a Roman or Medieval piece - the soldiers look like Crusaders to me. Likely to have been copied from a Museum piece and sold to tourists. Made to look old but I'm not seeing signs of any great age; most likely post-WW2

I couldn't make head nor tail of the language - I tried putting into translation apps for both Greek and Latin, but it's difficult because it's hard to tell where one word ends and another begins! I must admit, I'm not sue of the age at all. Clearly it is supposed to look much older than it actually is, and because of this it is difficult to estimate the actual age accurately.
Dan - which bit refers to a Greek battle?
