Sharpe's Pottery, Swadlincote, Derbyshire

Post by NaomiM on September 10th 2017, 11:47 pm

Figural jug in the shape of a lady with green and cream Whielden style glaze. Unmarked. I believe it to be by Sharpe's Pottery, Swadlincote, South Derbyshire, c.1880 - A similar figural jug, of a man, in the same glaze colours, base, and handle, was identified by Sharpe's Museum as being by their pottery. It was also 9 1/2" in height. Presumably they were made as a pair.

24cm (9 1/2") high x 12cm (5") base diameter
