This plate was made in Jingdezhen China circa 1949 - 1960.

After the Peoples Republic assumed power the new communist government organised all the porcelain manufacturing factories into units and gave them all numbers instead of names and this nice small plate was made in factory number one (1)

This particular decoration proved to be very popular and is still being made today.

The circular red mark reads: Jiangxi Jingdezhen Ming Ci (1) and is read in the modern manner, left to right.
