Maker identity? 19thc China Incised V & F or P Handpainted Dog Cartouches

Post by ClaraIreland2 on August 9th 2017, 5:07 pm

Can anyone help identify the maker of these cups and saucers please. I was told they are 19th century. Also that they are very rare. The only marks I can see are incised V and an impressed F or P. They are delightful with gold dentil rims and dog heads of various breeds on the cups and the saucers. Each "cartouche" is surrounded by oak? branches. Many thanks. Hope this is the correct forum for this enquiry. Many thanks

Would you say they are hand painted Clara?
They look good quality, but if so, why no mfr mark?

They look hand painted, can't tell on quality from the pictures but they seem ok. What I take to be an X on the base is very similar to a Minton's mark. Minton signed in the late 19th century with a date code as a single letter. Here is a link to the ones to look for.

It could be them or one of the countless European makers  Surrender
