Beresford Pealing mark?

Post by tigerchips on August 5th 2017, 3:41 pm

It's really hard to tell just looking at a book but this mark seems like it might be a Beresford Pealing mark? I have the mark upside down if it is.  I tried contacting the Town Mill Pottery in 2007 but they didn't reply. It's nine and a half inches high. It has lot's of crazing on it but i don't think it's of any great age. Sgraffito decoration, i love it.  Happy

It's dB, so not Pealing's mark.
The decoration looks similar to Ewenny and Devon slipware, but as it's a stamped mark it's likely to be post-WW2; possibly 1960s

Pealing's mark has a distinctive square round it from the stamp, and is usually on Stoneware. http://pin.it/gvMY2wj
I've not seen an example of his work in sgraffito decorated slipware on earthenware.
