Russian and Soviet Marks - Lomonosov

Post by hercules brabazon on July 19th 2017, 11:06 am

I thought it might be useful to have a thread on this. First, Soviet era Lomonosov (the former Imperial Porcelain Factory in St Petersburg).

Best to have one per thread so the name of the pottery is in the header and can be googled and searched for on the forum

I don't know about that: most users of the forum won't be able to read more of these marks than "Made in USSR" or "Made in Russia"; so it'd be good to have a thread where, given that basic knowledge, they can find the various potteries. If they already know its Lomonosov, they can go straight to the dedicated thread under "European Pottery".

Ok, pop them on the one thread but put the pottery name in the sub-headers so they can be searched for.

Konakovo Faience Factory

Post by hercules brabazon on July 20th 2017, 1:07 pm

At Konakovo in Tver province. Dating back to the early 19th century, and renamed "Farforovyi Zavod Imeni Kalinina" after Mikhail Kalinin in 1919.

This stamped mark: an abstracted leafy branch over two wavy lines and the letters "ЗиК", in green; with "MADE IN USSR" in red.
