I can't make the mark out but if it's an S then maybe John Singleman is a possibility , apparently a student of leach for a short time and this piece does look kinda studenty Shrugs

Yes, I think that was his early mark when he was in the UK at Leach Pottery, and this is his US mark. He also has a JO underlined in a triangle. But I'll double check

His marks are in circles, triangles, rectangles and even a hexagon :) He's been potting for a long time.

I sent the images to the Leach Museum and they said that they can't ID this mark.

This is what a very helpful Joanna said.

"There have been a huge number of potters at the Leach Pottery over the years and unfortunately that stamp is not one I know and nor is it in a book of potters marks that we have"
