"Modern Art" is produced by incompetents, sold by charlatans and bought by ignoramuses?

It is enlightening to juxtapose "Fine Art" to "Modern Art"

Its got a very Italian look to it. Does it have a lid? If not it could simply be a planter. I would suggest Florence is a good starting point for this type of revival ceramic. I don't know the factory but they changed so fast and used so many marks very few people do. Walter over at the Italian pottery marks website may be a help if its Italian. Age is difficult but I can't imagine its after 1930's based on the quality and you would be very lucky indeed if its before 1870 so that would be my estimated age range.

Agreed, 19thC Italian imo. This is a good site for pottery marks -
