Can anyone confirm this is signed by Felicity Aylieff?

She signed her work with incised capitals up to about the mid 90's.
Got a couple of pieces of her work of that period, and they are very accomplished pieces. In all honesty this one looks nothing like them, and indeed is rather pedestrian.

Later she signed with lower case.

I suspect that, whichever potter this is by, signed it on request after being fired.

Well it's from a collector who buys direct from potters so it's possible. Unfortunately they'd had this for a few years and hadn't made a note to remind them who it was.

this is the problem with collecting the work of dozens of potters over many years, if you don't keep records you risk forgetting who made them.
I like to collect the work of potters with unmistakable styles that I can recognise across a room

"Modern Art" is produced by incompetents, sold by charlatans and bought by ignoramuses?

It is enlightening to juxtapose "Fine Art" to "Modern Art"
