Belgian Pottery ?
Hi all. I have two vases that I think are Belgian Arts & Crafts period. I am seeing similar glazes and finishes on the base but nothing really confirming it. The larger is 27cm and the other 21 cm. In the last photo of the small one I am unsure but it looks like it could be letters of some sort but just as likely it is just the glaze.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Belgian Pottery ?
Typical pottery from Belgian and the Netherlands from the first half of the 20th century. Normally unmarked, the styles are often the only clue to the date it was made. As we had a couple of world wars during that period your normally looking for designs from before 1914 or from the period 1920-1937. These two look earlier with a little arts and crafts influence as you say.

Nothing wrong with a bit of Belgian art pottery
They are rustic and thickly potted, often with great multi colored glazes. They go very well in most modern homes and lets face it they are great value for money. If you want a few hundred year old art pottery items to display you can't go wrong with a few of these on your windowsill.

Thanks all. I am not in a minority on here but still am at home. The colours on the larger one does seem to have that 'stand back and throw paint' thing going on and does give a lot of colour. Thank all.
