Is it a vase..a goblet..a lamp? Please help identify Bergdahl pottery form.

I can post one if it would help. It is simply "M Bergdahl" in cursive. But what is this object used for? That's where I am stumped.

Looks like a professional piece but I'm not finding Bergdahl on google which makes me wonder if it's been read wrongly.

I did the Google search when I first brought it home. No luck here either. Bergdahl is a correct reading. But regardless of the potter, the form still doesn't make sense. What were you thinking when you suggested "originally two pieces"?

A pedistal bowl, maybe, like a small bird bath, or water bath for floating candles or flowers on. This would be the pedistal part.

Looks like a nicely made thing. If you google the name Bergdahl you will see 81% with that as a surname live in Sweden so its a good bet it's Swedish. As for it's use. I don't think its a lamp, there appears to be no lip or hole for the cord at the base making it unstable if that is what it was designed for. I have seen some large vessels with a hole like that and those originally had a cork to fit the hole to allow water to drain. But this does not seem, big enough. I think it is probably for a candle with the hole to allow easy cleaning.

Thanks for all the feedback. Regarding the lamp hypothesis: I was thinking a hanging pendant lamp (orient this piece upside down from my photo). I had considered a candle holder, but it seems the wax would eventually drip out the hole and ruin the furniture underneath. I have never seen a "corked" vase. Do you have a link? I would be very curious. Thanks all.

Sorry not got a link to the corked vessel. the ones I have seen are 19th century and often tied to drinking games or puzzle jugs. Not saying this is that but those are the ones with corks. This is probably a candle holder, little else makes sense.
