Denby Minaret Dish Blue

Post by moomin5616 on May 12th 2016, 9:26 pm

Hi,
I have recently bought a Denby Minaret dish in Blue with the initials RW on the bottom. (I only know it's minaret as i trawled hundreds of images on google till I found a match) and know nothing else about it. Any info re age, decorator, value etc would be fab. Got it cos I loved the chunky feel of it and it was cheap but don't know what it's use was as it has notches out of the rim...some form of strainer? spoon rest??
TIA
:)

Welcome to the Forum.

If it is Minaret then the range was designed by David Yorath and introduced in the early 1970s. However, we do need to see an image of the dish and the mark(s) to confirm.

The piece you have will actually be a large ash-tray, shape 800.
The Decorators initials RW, are unidentified at the moment.

sorry but we don't really do valuations on the forum as it would just snowball if we did

It is enlightening to juxtapose "Fine Art" to "Modern Art"
