Woodbridge Art Ware

Post by cycladelic on May 10th 2016, 6:37 am

This vase stands about 12cm tall.

It's clearly similar to 1930s Shelley, but I can't find out much about the company and when they existed...

There's a piece on ebay in a rather different (but still very deco) style. Interestingly its got a moulded mark reading "EMBASSY" on the base in addition to the printed "Woodbridge Art Ware". This might indicate a connection with Kirkland's who used the "Embassy" trade name, or perhaps that Woodbridge was a decorating studio who bought the blanks from them.

I think I saw the piece -- the colours are more muted. Thanks!
