Is this Studio Hamada Bowl?
Between the design, glaze and thinness of this bowl, I think it may be studio Hamada, but, need help because I am no expert. The bowl is 6" in diameter and marked, but, I do not know the maker. Many thanks for any info.

Re: Is this Studio Hamada Bowl?
The design, glaze, thinness of the bowl, the stoneware body and the mark on the base suggest that this bowl has no connection with Shoji Hamada, any of his family or Mashiko, the town in which he worked.
It looks an interesting bowl none the less.

Ha - guess that shows how much I know. Any idea of the artist? Japanese?

Re: Is this Studio Hamada Bowl?
The mark looks as if it could be Japanese but the bowl isn't decorated in a typical Japanese style that I am aware of, so I don't know.
I wouldn't rule out it having been made in the States but don't think I can be very much more help as my expertise, what I have, is really confined to British and Japanese studio pottery.
