NOT Rie
Some of you may have seen the bowl in the attached photos for sale on eBay recently as a speculative Lucie Rie. I thought the form and mark were similar enough to warrant a punt but there are obvious doubts. Does anyone have any thoughts?
If not Rie, then who?
Many thanks for any help.

Re: NOT Rie
If it can be said that something is 10000% then this is 10000% not Rie.
Difficult to tell from your image because it isn't clear but it looks like raku. Is it lighter in weight than you would have expected?

Re: NOT Rie
Unknown mark. Not seeing the quality is expect from a professional potter, let alone Rie.

The reason for me putting 10000% was that I thought you were the seller, who had contacted me privately before listing it on Ebay, so he knew damn well that it wasn't by Lucie Rie.
Sorry I didn't read your original post saying that you had bought there. I just saw the bowl and was annoyed.

Re: NOT Rie
It just looks wrong, in form and glaze, not sure if it's someone trying to deceive or a genuinely similar mark.
