Hi.  Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about this stoneware bowl, 25cms in diameter.  At first I thought it was British, then I thought it might be Japanese, and now I simply don't know.

It looks very much like Andrew Hague's style, Askrigg pottery.
but can't quite make out the mark.

Yes, very like Andrew Hague's style but the mark is very odd. Possibly it's a partial one because it's on the edge. Maybe worth asking him. He's very nice.

Thanks Denbydump and Naomi.  I have my doubts about Andrew Hague but have emailed him for confirmation one way or the other.

Andrew Hague has kindly replied that the bowl isn't one of his. The majority view on the Facebook Japanese ceramics discussion group is that it is indeed Japanese, but no positive ID. So - another unresolved mystery!
