Well made pot, can it be by Simon Rich? The mark doesnít look exactly the same.

Simon Rich's mark is normally a separate S and R, and the lid doesn't look like his normal type of glaze.

Not sure it's a P. Might be an I through the W. If so, possibly Will Isley

Thanks for suggestions, top of the mark is under glaze, but I can still see SR letters trough in a good light.

It looks to me as if the base is Winchcombe Pottery but the lid is not the right lid.

If you look at the second image down the stoneware body of the lid looks slightly different to that of the base and the internal glaze of the lid is different to the base.

As they say when talking about furniture, it looks like a marriage.

I know the lid has no mark but it looks very like Leach Pottery to me.

The possible good news is that I think the lid is quite likely from a "mottled grey brown" Leach Pottery coffee pot. They did them in 3 different glazes but whenever I seem to look on that well known internet auction site there always seems to be someone trying to pass off a Leach Pottery coffee pot (without the lid) as a jug. So that's the rare piece of the coffee pot. All you need to do is find the more common pot part. Cheeky

So do keep it.

Maybe Dariusas is the cause of all those "Leach Jugs"! Happy
